We will see tonight. The integra weighs in at ~2600 with driver.

and lets not talk peak HP figures here... you have to consider the TQ output.

SGT: i'm not sure what you implying with the TQ numbers making the same or less than a 1.8 at times. You must be reading the graph incorrectly.

The average TQ prior to VTEC is around 138-140ft/lbs, After VTEC it averages 145-147 range all the way to redline.

Show me a 1.8 that does that. 140ft/lb in an LS/VTEC even, is impressive and that is PEAK.

SGT: Again, I don't know who does your tuning or who feeds you the information your spitting out, but please take a few minutes and look at the dyno charts that Jeff has kindly put together for us to review:
http://www.importreview.com

Compare and contrast the 1.8 vs 2.0 motors. Even the highetst output 1.8 (LS./VTEC even) doesn't even eclipse the weakest 2.0.

Good power, good torque and a great powerband...your above 200 at the wheels from 7k-8500. Thats good.

Looks like its tuned pretty good.

Look at the header guys. DC 4-1 JDm header. I know the Hi-Tech header makes roughly 10+ Hp at the wheels more than that. And I don't even know the exhuast length of their setup.

And they listed stock Intake. Thats another 7 HP with an Iceman Race. I think i will hook them up with an Iceman race soon.

With a Hi-Tech header and an Iceman Race intake, they are looking at an EASY 220+.

And I think 220+ for a 1.8 liter motor that runs on the street is about as far as current technology can go on 92 octane at that compression.

I think that for a full race motor, with crank work, bigger bore, headwork, and another 3k in that motor on C-16 race gas about 240+ is possible. But thats full race, all out.

I have to APPLAUD C-SPEED. They built a great motor with excellent power output for what they have!

GOOD JOB C-SPEED. I hope we can do some JOINT future projects together.

Jeff

2600 with driver...I say 12s no problem! My Civic weighed 2550 with driver.
Make sure you post the results.

Good luck.

Default Here is my guess...

Estimated 1/4 mile ET: from 13.0-13.3
Estimated 1/4 mile MPH: from 101-103
Estimated 1/8 mile ET: 8.45-8.55
Estimated 1/8 mile MPH: 80-83

So I will guess 13.1@102

Thats if the car weighs about 2600 with driver.

Thats kind of heavy.

Jeff,
Thanks for the compliments. Also, Thank you very much for co-ordinating such short notice actions to get us the Hondata in such a hurry. Excellent service and great to chat to on the phone.

Down to the nitty gritty. Yes, we were running on a stock intake and filter element. I'm positive a replacement will definately improve the numbers. Hell, removing the filter alone netted 5hp and 3.5ft/lbs!

Keep in mind that we are running on 92-octane and WAY high compression... On the order of 12.7:1cr area. Ignition advance was retarded accordingly to prevent detonation.

To say that the hondata is an awesome tuning tool doesn't do it much justice. It made tuning so much easier and became more of a science than change and pray methods.

One area that we definately still can make power with/on is tuning the ignition advance. We played with it a little, but the changes we made didn't make any noticable changes in output. Its still a gray area of tuning that most people don't touch and aren't familiar with, however we'd like to gather some more info about that subject. If you have any advice, please let us know.

We will be hitting the track tonight (weather permitting - 80% change of rain) and should/hopefully have some track times. We will be running on DOT rubber today rather than slicks just to see where the car stands at this point in tuning.

More specifically it will be rolling on 15x6.5 Spoon SW388 and 205.50.15 Falken Azenis rubber.

PS: Jeff - future joint projects are eminent. I tried calling you yesterday while on the dyno, however the number I programmed in to the cell phone was off by 1 digit. ARGH. We could have used some of your expertise

Hey G3..do you happen to have (or can you get) the actually dyno file "DYNORUN.031" in that format?

The average TQ prior to VTEC is around 138-140ft/lbs, After VTEC it averages 145-147 range all the way to redline.

Granted yes your low cam numbers are a decent amount higher than a 1.8,
and you have a decent amount of torque from 6000 until about 7200, but after
about 7500 you are averaging about 135lbft and dropping fast to 125 at 8500.

Here is an example:

I realize this is actual, but the corrected numbers are only a few down from this.
In vtec corrected torque averages 138-140 until i ran out of fuel at about 7500rpm.
I was pushing 75-80psi out of the stock injectors and the stock pump just couldnt
keep up. 270-310cc injectors would have worked well and brought the hp and torque up
even more. This is with spec A cams in a stock motor with .020" milled off the head.

Look, I'm not trying to down you or anything, just pointing out that the upper
range could use some more work. Larger injectors would be a start.
The main area you should concentrate on is the 7000-9000. Looks like
the torque curve could be brought up a bit.

SgT: Thanks for pointing that out. Yes I agree that the TQ number fall rather quickly after 7000 as compared to some other motors. However that can easily be attributed to the fact that 1. stock injectors 2. stock intake

Although A/F was good 13.2-13.5 range from 8000+, we were running 62psi fuel pressure with a Walbro 317. I'll have to look back at the datalogs to see what the injector duty cycle was, but i'm sure it was well over 90% at that point.

Right now, I'm more concerned with overal flow, the stock intake is too restrictive for high RPM use.
