Battery question
My R has been sitting for about 2 weeks in the garage. I went to pull it up to change the oil in the jeep and she wouldn't start. The battery was replaced 8/08 so it's not too old. Would my alarm being set draw enough power to drain it?

Re: Battery question
That depends on the alarm. I have the factory alarm and I've started it after up to two weeks without problems. However, I usually put a charger on it if it's going to sit for two weeks or more.
The battery probably isn't entirely dead. If you recharge it, either with a charger or by jumping it and then driving it a while, it will probably be okay.

Re: Battery question
My car started up with no promblems after exacly 4 weeks. I got a python alarm, its the newest one they have out. I also got a yellow top optima so mayby thats why.. you could also take the battery to a local auto zone or o'reillys and get it tested, just cause its a new battery doesnt mean there wont anything wrong with it.

Re: Battery question
ive been a DEI authorized dealer for over 20 years and i know everyone like to blame the alarms systems for battery drains but it's hardly ever the cause. if you think it is the alarm, try disconnecting it for however long it usually takes to drain the battery. you need to pinpoint what it really is. and if your parking your car for long periods of time, you should get a trickle charger.
