Default backfiring help!!!!

hi guys. My car starts making popping sounds and backfires right when my car hits vtec. What do you think could cause this problem, we fixed all the vacuum leaks and it still pops. Its weird though, one time i kinda stepped on it and it didnt pop and I took to 7000 rpm. Then I did it again and it popped and backfired. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!!!

I have a drag 3 turbo kit, blitz dsbc, aem fuel rail, apexi exhaust, random tech cat.

backfiring is cool, do flames shoot out of your exhaust?

i believe backfiring is caused by too much fuel(running rich) so umm increase your air flow haha sorry im drunk

thats a lot of help, thanks...when it just pops, it's running on the lean/stoich side(according to my A/F gauge, which is hooked up to O2 sensor) but one time it sounded like a firecracker and was loud, only did that once. Who knows. I think it might just be a fuel issue. The thing is, it didn't really start until it was driven in Seattle for a month or so, on their bumpy streets, nothing knocked loose tho...

Make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks first before moving on to harder stuff.

the exhaust it all tight now, had a blown intake manifold gasket, fixed that also. Everything's nice and sealed. Actually, when we got everything sealed back up, it started doing it more. I think it's detonation. I';m getting the tec3 managment system in August, guess I can't push too hard till then, that sucks. Or just get it tuned and fix that knock sensor...
