i have a 97 dx 2dr.... i have basic bolt on... AEM short Ram/ Apex'i WS exhaust...and ih ave a DC sport's header for an EX...

I have no cat, and im running only 1 o2.. i have OBD2, and i already know im running rich.. im throwing a the o2 sensor code.. and i have the CEL ...

now it's been fine lately, it rained really really bad 2day.. and i went driving in it, but when the rain cleared up and everythign was dry i went driving again.. now my car was making a weird noise out of the exhaust, like it was choking or gaging ... it sounded internally.. and it was doing it thru out all of my RPM'z 1st-5th... everything... my friend said maybe the exhaust is clogged or something .. from running all that fuel thru. also after driving it for like 10-15min it went away.. just like that.. it kinda hesitates once in a while ... like at full throttle, 1st-4th, if i just shifted.. and had it on full throttle it would kinda jerk like 3 sec.'s after i had shifted..... can someone please please please please help me! if u need more info to help me.. please ask.. i really would like to learn this about this myself. and fix it myself as well.. and no flaming please..thanx...

It may take finding someone with exactly the same experience. Part of the challenge is that you have known problems (richness). So, that could *be* the problem, or it could mask it, or ... ?

Try the basics: air filter, fresh plugs, check plug wires at nite for arcing?

And -- see what all the error codes are, in case the ECU is trying to tell you something else.

dude i had the same problem. i had the same upgrades as you too. all i did was change my plugs and its all gravy now! it pulls alot harder now. i got some irridium 4's they work nicely. hope that helps.

 

actually im on my way 2marow to get some new plugz... thanx bro... by the way where did u pick up those iriduim plugz at?
