Anyone running the STR Intake manifold on a ITR?
I anyone running a STR intake manifold on a non turboed ITR with around a 68mm throttle body
I understand that this intake manifold adds more air flow
If so what alterations did you make to the full system
did you just up fuel pressure
Let me know Please

so.. STR IM sucks?
looks almost identical to GE IM..
what are these manifold made for? FI??? are they no good if used with N/A set up?? cams and high comp r?
if these sucks what's a good IM. other than the AIR one..
AIR is too expensive..

You have to pay to play, at times, with a N/A Honda motor.
There are times when you get what you pay for. Intake and exhaust manifolds are a good example of when this is true, IMHO.

you people spend $1000+ on exhaust manifolds...
personally i love my AIR manifold, but its only really worthwhile if you have some serious engine modifications.

What are your power goals? You can make a lot of power on the stock IM, the money could probably be spent in more effective ways, unless you just want the bling factor.

i am hoping for abour 220-230 whp.
i have ANR header and 2.5" catback.. j's racing and aem cai intake...
and.. RM m22xx + RM retainers, springs, 310cc injectors, camgears blah blah
12.3 ish compression ratio. .25mm overbore pistons

no.. gonna have a CTR piston.. and according to online compression ration calculators. it says.. it's around 12.0 to 12.5.. so.. i just said.. 12.3ish..

couple ways to incress your compression ratio:
thin head gasket. like mugen/spoom.... but that wont do too much..
Mill the head.. it's shaving some off your head.. that will incress few compression point.. but could be shitty. cuz u cant go back once it's milled. and piston and valve clearance could be bad. and u wont get too much of high compression either

well i think that most people in the all motor forum would disagree with you there...
you might be able to push close to 200whp but 220-230 would require a LOT more. ask bradstard.

I would agree, I would expect 200ish whp from that setup. 220-230? The only way you would hit that is if your dyno is off....200whp is still pretty damn fast.

The STR IM isn't great for N/A.
Right now the AIR and the JG VictorX are the two top IM's for all motor Hondas.
Oh, and don't expect 220whp from a 1.8L without some serious headwork...It just wont happen.

I have been chipping away at the 220 whp mark on my 1.8 ITR motor, and it ain't easy. I am up to 216, and with a couple of changes we think we can get over 220, but the head is ported. There are a couple of guys who have done it (Tony the Tiger, for one), but you can count the number of documented 220+ whp (DynoJet)all motor 1.8 liter Hondas on one hand.

i did 214...and hit 220whp on the dyno with a stock ITR head with my 2.1L
