Where? Not from Reputable companies such as hmotors or IAS. </TD></TR></TABLE>
200 HP K24 motors, including gearbox (6).
This is from a train load of USDM CL7 that was totalled. All the cars were rolled, basically totalling them, but the motors and gearboxes were released to the public with zero miles on them.
I know that Alberto and Brian Wong had access to them, and I'd consider them of reasonable repute.
These motors would be problematic for a DC2 installation and I provided the information only as an example of the kinds of things that were available.

But, Ross, this would mean that the prices of the remaining few B18C5 would also be going up, and as time goes on we'd be rebuilding motors that were no longer well supporting by the people with whom we'd be dealing.

HAH!
How long has the R motor been in the market now?
Has prices drop? Barely </TD></TR></TABLE>
Price is directly linked to demand and supply...and I think it's safe to say that the supply of the K-series is substantially larger than that of C5, so even if the demand goes up by quite a large amount the price should still be cheaper...relatively. Also the K-series is in current production...same can't be said for the C5.
Speaking of which...if anyone wants a legit C5 with VINs still on it....drop me a line

Seems like I will have to stock up on B18C5 blocks. O well.
Hopefully my ITR will be at Pebble Beach when I'm 60. With me driving it back and forth.
They will be making B18C5s until 2011, yes? After that, I am hopeful that someone will pick up the slack, as has happened with the classic Ford and Chevy aftermarkets. You can still get brand-new Chevy 350 crate motors, just made by somebody else.

Anyone care to share the weight difference?
As well as the balance of the weight?
Seems to me that it might be a nary bit heavier on the nose with the K banger.

Why?
From everything I hear, the K20 is a few kg lighter than our B18Cs. Unless there's something else that would cause it to gain weight up there.

That and weight distribution is probably a tad better since the engine is on the passenger side instead of the drivers side. But I wonder what's the weight difference between the 6 speed K series transmission and the B series transmission.

Can't be much. After all, they made a 2.0L engine weighing less than the 1.8 it replaced.

Re: AJR K20A DC2R Pics (Ross R)
read this thread regarding the b-series weight vs. k-series weight.
although the b-series is a b20-vtec, you will notice that the k is about two pounds heavier.
