Im sometimes having problems getting my car into 1st gear from neutral im wondering what can cause this? I had my clutch and flywheel replaced because the pressure plate broke and was wondering if when the acura techs took it for a test drive with a broken pressure plate(not knowing it was broken) if that couldve caused any further damage or wear to the car?

 

have you always had this problem? if not, it's normal. Mine is hard to get in the 1st gear as well. You just gotta put it into 2nd before putting it in the 1st. Sometime chagning out your tranny fluid helps a bit.

 

1st gear is the toughest gear to get into for. Especially from a rolling start. Sometimes it'll go in smooth from a standstill but most of the time it just doesn't feel like a solid shift.

 

I have a problem with first. If I sit at a light for awhile, sometimes first won't go in. I usually have to put it in second and pop it into first (sometimes kinda hard). I took it in for warranty, but they couldn't duplicate the problem, no work was done.

I don't have a problem with putting it in first from a rolling stop, I just hate holding the clutch down waiting for the light.
