the frame when dropping it or do you have to twist or turn the engine/tranny to remove it?

 

I don't understand the question. If you just drop the engine out, of course it won't clear the frame.

When I dropped mine (I didn't have an engine hoist), I jacked the front of the car up real high and slid it out the side right in front of the passenger side wheel well. I had the axles and the rotors all out of the way. Oh, and the head was off too. Even with the head off, it was a tight fit. I had to use a block of wood on top of the jack to get it up that extra couple of inches.
