how do you drop the engine through bottom of car?
first off, is it actually easier to drop the engine out through the bottom than it is to pull it out through the top?
how do you do it? is it any different than pulling it out through the top? do you need to remove either of the cross braces under the car?

What engine, what car? On 5th gen Civics, it's easy to go either way, but to get it out through the bottom you need a lift. If you have a lift, you can pull it out from the bottom by yourself, with a hoist from the top, it's easier to have a helper.

if you have a engine lift the go out the top, if you have just a floor jack, bottom works good. it's just hard to get the car high enough to get the motor out.
And you don't have to take anything off when going down. just get the axles out of the way, and make sure everthing is unhooked!!! ie: fuel line/return fuel line, clutch line, heater hose, coolant, etc....
