Default Where is CYLINDER NO. 1 on a B18??

Okay so I just got into a dumb argument with a friend on where the No. 1 Cylinder is on a B18.

I'm almost positive that it is the one on driver side, closest to cam "gears", furthest from dizzy and he said it was the opposite one. So we decided to look online and sure enough there were suggestions for BOTH??? so who is right? Call me a noob BUT i'd really like to know, because it pertains to my timing belt and I refuse to turn the car on until i'm 100% sure.

N0.1 cylinder is the one furthest from your dizzy and closes to your cams. In this case you are right.
