in the back of the block the green plug one? i figured if it was a ect it would be dry like the other one for the fan switch

I didn't think LS motor's had knock sensors...
That sensor belongs on the passenger side of the head, next to where the short radiator hose mounts. It will be wet, unlike the fan switch.

Sorry, the B18a1 is different from the GSR & ITR motor's I am familiar with.
After some googling, you have an oil pressure sensor, oil pressure switch, and ECT sensor all back there next to the oil filter. I believe that green plug to be an Oil Pressure Switch.
