What is the normal idle?
i used to have the idle at 800 rpm, but since the weather get colder, my idle dropped to 550 - 600 rpm...is this normal? or do u have to adjust it? if so, how to adjust it?

I hope you mean your idle was at 800 and now it's between 500-600rpm because if you are really idling at 8000rpm then you've got big problems. Anyways, between 600-800 is normal.
Weird... Since it's gotten colder, my idle has gone UP. NOrmal it's about 750-800, but when it's cold out, it idles around 1500. My mechanic said it's nothing to worry about, but I haven't had it fixed yet.

when the engine is cold it will idle higher to warm up. 1500 sounds about right (at least it does for my GS-R). not sure about the idle dropping though
I was told when the engine is cold it will idle higher because it similar to the choke on a smaller engine.. like a lawn mower or a snow blower. When its idleing high, like at 1500 its also running rich. But unlike the choke its automatic.
Anybody know if thats right? - the choke theory?

Its nothing to worry about, one day I started my car and I was idling about 1500-1600 and was all confused. But its just because its colder and when you let you car warm up the idle goes back to normal 750 or so.
BTW, I always, always let my car warm up, its a 2000 but I still want to treat it like it should be treated.
