Default what engine components are best for lsvtec setup?

im planning on doing either one oft he following:

1) swap in b16a into my ls and then build the motor

2) swap the vtec head off the b16a onto my b18b and then swap the pistons into my b18b.

my question is, would the ls block with the b16a vtec head and the b16 pistons be about as fast as a gsr? or nowhere close? i think the b16a pistons have higher compression than the b18b does.. thanx!

not to offend you but
everybody has a different combinations for this set up
so do your homework and choose your set up...

Are your B16A pistons PR3 or P30? Either way, it will help the engine to make more power. The stock rods should work, but I'd look at upgrading to some Eagle's. It would be a very good idea to have the crank balanced and then have the pistons checked for correct balance before you use them. I think you should be able to take a GSR. Hell, an LS with just the P30 pistons and some other minor mods should be able to pull a stock GSR.
