hahaha, oil catch cans, not pans. they collect oil vapors instead of feeding them back into your motor, they also can reduce blowby gasses if installed correctly reducing crankcase pressure and gaining HP.

The whole idea for an oil catch can is to run it between the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) and the intake to reduce oil and gas vapors. With the cat can more Hp. can be achieved because the air is fresher and the octane of the fuel is boosted. My brother has a catch can on his 91' 4door and after about 3000 miles it had about 1/4 of an inch of residue in the can when he emptied it.

Is there such a thing as an oil catch pan too? I know in some motorcycle racing series there is a requirement to have a pan installed under the engine to catch oil and keep it off the track if the engine explodes. Not sure what they are called though (aside from belly pans)...
