Re: (zeroz)
I ran AMSOil last change and wasn't too impressed. I'd read up all the hype and gave it a shot with a $60 oil change. I ended up burning 2 quarts over 7-8000 miles. With Mobil One full-syn I won't use any or very little oil over a 5000 mile change. I'm back to Mobil One on this one with a Bosch Filter. I think I might try Redline one of these times.

royal purple is the best that there is, none better. I use it in all my cars. they do not sell hype, all the claims they make are true. I got to their business and see for myself how this stuff works, it is great. If not royal purple castol or valvoline.

Why is it the best? What do you have to back yourself up?

Re: (Kangolbrand)
Royal purple is held to a European standards for oil. That is why they are considered so top notch(sp). BMW uses Castrol 5w-30 but it is different than the stuff you buy at the store. If you look on the back of oil bottles they have different ratings. Some degrade really quickly and some barely degrade. I believe it is ae3 rating. If you search on bob the oil guys web site their is an explanation there. The only one that is rated the same that I know of that you can buy at like pep boys, Kragen's, and etc. is Mobile 1 full synthetic 0-40. I used that and Castrol 5w-30 from the BMW dealership only. I've never had a problem no leak and no burn, I would usually would go the full distance. I would go almost the full 6k the oil still looked great even after I changed it. I never burnt any oil and if there was it was insignificant, I didn't notice it. For more information go to Bob the oil guy!!

I've been using just Valvoline MaxLife for about 125K miles now and with 240K miles on the engine it doesn't leak a drop or burn any more than a normal car does (1/2 qt. or less in 3K miles).

Re: (PatrickGSR94)
I wasn't trying to say their was anything wrong with using another brand. I'm just letting people now what makes royal purple, royal purple and another option for same standard oil that I know of.
