What am I missing?
I'm an electrical engineer, so all this stuff if facinating to me. But as an engineer, I like to have everything planned and parts acquired before I start building. I used to have a 96 GSR. Got stolen from the SDSU parking lot during my sophomore year. Since then, I've been driving a 98 Civic LX auto. Sucks, but it's cheap on gas.
Just picked up a 92 teg with 145k miles and a blown motor for $200. Interior is clean and the body is straight with no bondo, so I think it's a great deal. I want to build her as a fun daily driver. Lot's of mustangs, abnoxious saturns, and a few vettes that I'd love to **** off on the twisties but still want to be able to drive it everyday. I wanted to stay away from LSV just cuz I want to maintain a stock'ish engine bay appearance. Here's my build plan:
- B18a1 block sleeved to 85mm (already have it and it's purdy)
- eagle crank, knife edged (on order)
- eagle H-Beam rods (on order)
- Arias pistons 11:1 comp ratio (on order)
- Skunk2 cams and cam sprockets
- Skunk2 underdrive pulleys
- F1 CrMo fly wheel (in my possesion)
- F1 stage 1 clutch set (in my possesion)
- S80 trans with ITR LSD
- got a head from a B18b1 that's been PnP'd
So... as far as the powerplant and drivetrain... what am I missing?

Are you going to be doing any modifications to the fuel system or to the ecu? I am assuming from what I see above you are looking for an NA setup! Not a big NA guy but from what I understand they rev the hell out of them and you will need something to allow you to mod the rev limiter... there are many piggy back systems that would work!
You don't have anything in there about bolt-on breather mods, which are a pretty important aspect of any engine build. Also, tuning is a must. You'll have to tune immediately with that build, so you should think about how you are going to do that.
Another thing to be aware of is that the cars you mentioned (Corvettes at least, and modern Mustangs) will still be far faster than you even when the road turns. The idea that Hondas are somehow better than American cars in 'twisties' is a myth. FWD and skinny tires is not a good equation for great cornering performance. You may have a tight turning radius and good turn-in but you won't be pulling .95 g on a skidpad without mods. To keep up in turns you'll need an upgraded suspension as well. Think tires, sway bars, shock/spring upgrades, and suspension bushings, in that order.

I'm thinking about scoring a larger intake and throttle combo. Headers are a must but I'm researching whether or not an ITR header w/ heatsheilds are compatible with my head. I figure I can use an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Tuning shouldn't be a prob. There's a dyno guy about 20 miles from me.
Suspension upgrades, wheels/tires, frame stiffening are definatley a given.
I think you should post these questions in the all motor forum. They are generally more knowledgeable and can give you really specific answers to your questions. I don't know what intakes are available for B18A engines, but I think an ITR header would be compatible with the head but probably not the stock exhaust system. IMO you can do better than that header, though. There's nothing wrong with it but you'll benefit from a higher flowing header with a bigger collector.
I'm still in planning stages.
Step 1: plan and aquire parts for powerplant and drive train
Step 2: assemble, break in, and tune
Step 3: plan and acquire parts for suspension
Step 4: assemble suspension
Step 5: plan and acquire parts to stop faster
Step 6: assemble brake system
Step 7: have fun

A brake system is really just going to amount to new pads and tires. Better tires + Hawk HPS or equivalent = all the braking performance 99% of people ever need. Modern cars ship with decent brakes straight from the factory.
