VTEC problem...throwing code 22...help please!!!!!!!
ok, i put in my vafc like 3 weeks ago...everything has been fine until last night......it seems like i can engauge into vtec in first and second, but it seems like when i start pulling through 3rd...i can get into vtec, but when i come down in the rpm range, my check engine light turns on, and then i bounce off the rev limiter at like 6800 and vtec doesnt engauge and its code 22....but if i turn the car off, it shuts off and doesnt go back on unless i go up that high..........what the **** is going on.....please help me!!!!!!! thanks
Ditto check oil first
second if you are over 2500 miles change oil something could be starving oil (ie bad filter or premature clogging)
check your wiring third.

oil level was fine....i have no idea what is going on....on the other hand...this morning...i got on the thruway and it pulled to like 120 with no problems...but then about a half hour later...it kicked the check engine light when i went to try again....i dont get it

v afc wiring could be the problem i had that happen to me too. Don't tap the vafc to v-tech and check to see if the light doesn't come on. If it doesn't come on then its the wiring on the controller. see if u have to tap off the VTM pressure switch. My englich ain't that good so bare with me
I threw a 22 and first thought it was a dent in my oil pan (which it very well could have been) so I replaced that (good measure anyways, fairly big dent) then I looked up the code and it said it was the vtec pressure switch, checked all the wires to my vtec pressure switch and they were all fine, replaced the switch ($50) and no more code, the switch had just died, I was having the same exact symptoms as you....check for a dent in the pan (a low oil reading will throw the car into safe mode) and if not that then check to see if all your wiring is ok to the vtec pressure switch. Maybe its something with the vafc but if not this could be your problem...(hopefully not a bad sylenoid
