If it has the same identical gears i would take my chances with an automatic. I think a computer can shift faster and better than any human can. Think about that.

Yea but you will need a tranny for that set-up.
Just know that your power comes at high RPMs, with an auto tranny you wont get the full potential.

you would think that.... but the thing is auto trannies use torque converters instead of clutches... clutches deliver power right away. torque converters kinda kick it in and never fully transfer it over. thats why the manual would still be faster. but like i said before. not by a lot.

right, and this is also why you see better gas mileage out of the same setup with a manual instead of an auto because you dont ahve a direct connection, you are moving fluid, and unless you have an internal clutch insite your torque converter(soem high end autos do) then you are always going to be loosing a bit of power.... secondly, a computer can tell the car to shift, but the hydrolic system that moves the gears is slower than moving your had once

some autos are way fast like camaros and stuff with built automatic drag racing trannies but they dont make shift kits and performance stuff for auto honda trannies. so they are always gonna be slower than a manual tranny (with = powerd engines)

You can always put in a higher stall torque convertor to get you into the powerband quicker. Your stall speed is where the tc is spinning one to one with the transmission. The higher the stall, the higher you rev the engine before your actually putting power through the tranny.

I have a 2800 rpm stall on my durango r/t, meaning I can power brake it to 2800 rpm before i let off the gas and go down the strip. If i'm not careful, I can actually get it to shift into second when I'm power braking it because the stall is so high. Keep in mind, the 5.9 in the d only revs to 5000. Put a 3800-4200 or higher stall paired with a turbo B18c, you'll already be at full boost before the tree even comes down.

Level 10 makes transmission upgrades for automatic Hondas.

i believe that the torque converter in the ls tranny cannot cope with the additional stress and you will need a jdm s-irg auto tranny, which also has shorter gear ratios.

as far as making an auto integra fast and keeping the auto tranny, there was a guy in this forum claiming a 11 sec 0-60 time in his auto ls.

why would the gsr tranny cope with the torque of an ls/vtec better???

Not GSR - SiR-G

so whats an SIR-G then? OMG might it be the equivalent to a USDM GSR?!

all these engines produce the same amount of torque...there is no reason the gsr (ok ok ill be jdm about it) ahem....no reason why the SIR G transmission would cope any better than an LS
