Default venom 400 performance module???

has any one used or know about the "venom 400"... supposedly it can add a good amount of hp for about $300... it is a module that is supposed to be easy to install... if u don't know what it is go to google and type in venom 400, u should see it... the reviews on the site say that it works but i want to make sure i dont get ripped off before i buy it.

any help would be great

yea, those are mcshit. don't get it. stay away from those piggyback boxes. vafcs, safcs, etc. if you want to tune your computer, get your actual computer chipped, and get it tuned by someone reputable. check out xenocron.com

thats what i expected... it says up to a 25% increase in hp, but i dont think so... some of the reviews say they got about a 15% increase... i would be more than happy with a 15%... im not really looking to race, just to be able to have a little better acceleration...

my car is a 96 integra ls 1.8 l, stock with 142 hp, i have put a cold air intake and muffler
which added about 8-10 hp... im also thinking of buying a short shifter which should help me be able to shift quicker, and then if i hear the venom 400 works i will get that too(most likely is not real)... and thats about it... maybe as time goes on ill add more things

thanks for the post

it willw ork but its not going to do much.

a chipped ecu really only comes into use whenever you do a lot of modification. i.e. an engine build, or turbocharger. so really, for you, it wont help.

Theres no reason for it.

throw in a b16 tranny. it'll have the biggest impact on acceleration without breaking the bank.

b16 tranny would definitely help. Otherwise, a header and full exhaust.

I wouldn't recommend the venom 400. Like ******** said, it won't help unless you have modifications that call for a tune.

Not really.

I doubt those put out 8-10 hp either, unless you had the car dyno'd,
but most likely you gained 3-6 hp from the CAI, and "muffler".

You wouldn't gain anything from it, research more,
and you would learn the real reasons behind getting such a package.

But just to explain quick what the stuff is ...

First is a Pre-Chipped ecu, so you don't have to be soldering anything,
second is just a hookup to monitor things on a laptop, or such,
third being a tool to be able to run a "virtual" chip, making your ecu think it's that pretty much,
and the last thing is well, a Wide-Band air/fuel ratio gauge,
The gauge you need if you're tuning, or Getting your car tuned.
