valves
i got a compression test done on the gsr and adjusted the valves because some were loose...
numbers on the compression 220,210,215,215....what you think?
after adjusting the valves, there is a ticking noise, not loud but noticable...the shop told me it was normal. A friend of mine just built his entire motor and he says he has the same thing....is this really normal???

The ticking isn't normal. A valve lash adjustment should get rid of the ticking, not induce it.
I would drive it a little bit and see if the ticking goes away. If it doesn't, it could be something wrong with the rocker arms or lost motion assemblies.

slight ticking on a cold engine that goes away when warm isn't a problem, one or some of the valves are a bit loose. Slightly loose valve adjustment won't hurt anything, too tight will.
