Default VAFC help...???

hey guys im looking at picking up a Apexi VAFC as a trade. I drive a 95 GSR with vibrant 4-1 header, t-pipe, skunk 2 exhaust, intake and a few other little things. I dont know much about it but i know it can be benificial. My first concern is v-tec setting. One of my friends with a gsr says he thinks mine is chipped cuz it sounds and feels like v-tec fully enguages at 4250rpm. I bought the car used with some mods on it so i hav no idea if this is true or not. What should the v-tec crossover be set at with the VFAC??? Also what other cool features does it have that i should know about. And also what other things should i twink in with it to maybe make the car run a little better or even gain a few extra hp???? any help would be appriciated...thanks guys!!!!

if you dont know what you're doing dont touch it. you can easily mess your engine up. besides, you have no reason to even touch vtec. you have no mods that require it. if you're really set on installing it, have a pro tune it on a dyno. that's the only way you'll see any positive results.

and fyi, vtec in a gsr does engage at 4400rpm.

i messed with it for a while......honestly it only looks cool...if you dont professionally get it installed it will only mess up your wiring...i had it running on my 00 gsr...with about the same mods as you....worked great...well looked...after a few months i took it off and sold it....and still had a few wire problems after...

i wouldnt recomend it....

unless you leave vtec were its supposed to engage....and watch the cool light show.....Chicks dig it...
