upping compression?
How much will uping the compression add to horsepower on the average? like say i put 12.1:1 comp. piston in my stock b18c1, would it be worth it? i maybe be upgradeing the cams later on but ya, like somewhere like +30 horsepower tuned?

If your going to be running high compression like that, you'll need to upgrade other parts as well, ie. CAMS, Valvetrain, fpr, bigger injectors, etc. Once you have that done, you'll definately NEED to tune in order to reach your 30+ whp.
If you just drop in some high comp pistons, I dont think it'll do much right off the back.

sure you can gain hp just by dropping in bigger pistons but then u have to think what octane gas your gonna use
upgrading ur fuel system, and getting it tuned those are the 3 mandatory things im my opinion
but after that cams, intake mani, ect will also help u get to ur goal
but if u get it done right i think u can easly get 30+whp

would it be worth just replaceing the pistons with stock compression and save up for a turbo? thats what i really want and am shooting for 300+whp. And correct if im wrong, but it'lll take a **** load of money + time to build a na motor to do that.

with turbo, if you want something reliable that produces big gains, then you can't go cheap on the parts either. It'll probably cost just the same if you were to build a NA motor. You just see bigger gains with turbo set ups though (basically giving you more for your money imo).
If you do plan on boosting, dont get stock replacement pistons. You'll need lower comp pistons....gotta do the research!

well i know ill need lower comp pistons for boost and if i want BIG gains replace all the other stuff (rods, sleeve it, head bolts, etc...) but im not going to boost in teh near future. so should i just replace the rings and wait till i boost to slap in new pistons?
I have seen that with most stock B-Series engines, that for every 0.4 of compression you add about 10-15hp. Keep in mind that this is average hp numbers based on stock engine setups. These numbers can really change if you are doing other engine moding.
