Default Higher Compression Ratio

I was wondering about compression ratios. What I was wondering was, that if I get higher compression ratios pistons, will I need to change anything else? Like the head or something of the block?

Also, does having a higher compression ratio consume more gasoline?
I did a search in this forum, "compression ratio" and it came up with nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

No, you wont NEED to change anything else. What is the point of just putting in higher compression pistons? You wont gain that much power w/o cams. Rocket Motorsports cams FTW.

Im not sure about the gas usage tho. I would imagine that it would consume the same amount.

I'm not sure about Honda-specific upgrades required for high compression pistons, but a few things are for sure about raising compression.
1 You will have higher cylinder temperatures which means you should run colder plugs.
2 Make sure your ignition timing is adjusted accordingly to prevent detonation, and run a higher octane gas.

Theoretically you should see better mileage with higher compression because you will have a more efficient burn, but that is only if everything is tuned correctly.

And, like mentioned before, unless you upgrade cams and valve springs, you won't see much power increase. High compression engines live in the upper end of the rev band, so you will need to build your valve train for a rev limit increase.
