Two questions - oil leak confirm and dirt problem? (pics)
First off, I have a 98 GSR. I am having a problem with dirt (or possibly oil) on the underside of my hood. It looks like it's been thrown on the hood from the timing belt. what do you all think is causing it? I don't have wheel wells in, do you think that would cause my engine bay to become that dirty? Pic of underhood.
It's on the driver's side of the hood.
Now my oil leak. It is very slow, but I'm thinking it's the cam seal. what do you all think? This is taken on the passenger side of the engine right in front of the distributor. From what I've read it is the cam seal/cam plug on the exhaust cam side that is normal for B18's.
Thanks for all the help.

I leaking oil from what I believe is going to be my valve cover gasket, I just cleaned the area today and after driving some more I will check. Yours could be the same but I am not sure, mine didn't go much past the head, but yours is clear down the block. Sorry I couldn't answer your question, just thought I'd let you know mine looks very simuliar.

Re: (Nors)
yea its def the cam seal. not much to worry about. just get any metal cam seal (preferably 3 rings) off ebay there like 10$. all u have to do is take off the valve cover and cap cover and the seal pops out...pop the new one in and ur set. its easy as cake. nothing major at all. its VERY common on all b series motors with those shitty plastic seals.

As it looks like the hood dirt is the opposite side from the oil leak by the timing belts as you said. The oil leak could well be the cam seals or the valve cover if you notice oil leaking from the seal of the valve cover gasket. The wheel wells could have something to do with the hood though.
