Default Spraying oil!!!

sorry for the bad quality pic but i hope you get the idea

I think that would be a cam seal, and it's leaking oil, actually it's more like spraying it, because i have it on my hood and some leaked on to my tranny. How do i fix this, just replace the rubber seal? How difficult is it to do that and why did this happen?

My '94 GS-R is leaking in the same area and it is a common problem. The cam seal gets old and this allow oil to leak past the seal. I'm going to buy a new cam seal and also apply some Hondabond to prevent any future leaks. This is all that should be required to fix the leak. It should only require the removal of the valve cover and the removal of two bolts which holds the cam seal in place. It really shouldn't be that hard.

where exactly on the cam seal would you apply the hondabond, and is it necessary?

you really don't have to use hondbond but if you want just dab some on the edges, btw the cam plug is $5.08 part# 12513-p72-003, you also might want to check the spool valve (vtec solenoid) filter/gasket.

Dude you've got to be kidding me you wasted $750 on a valve cover! If you've got that kind of money to throw around and don't know how to fix your car take it to a mechanic.

STFU.

yes thats a common problem on gsr blocks, mine is doing the same thing. The older motors came with a soft rubber plug that didnt work too well, but the 98 and up I believe came with a hard plastic plug with rubber Orings on it. The newer ones work much better. If you are going to do the work yourself, you are going to need a torque wrench, and preferably a service manual. The actual work is quite simple though.

Seems like it is your cam seal. Just buy a STR Cam seal ($30) they are nice looking and do the job of fixing the problem.

I wonder if theres a company that makes aluminum cam seals for cheaper. Those things probably cost $.03 to make.

Send me the $30, and i'll send you the best cam seal made.

Or, just go to the dealer and get the 96-2k Integra cam seal and call it a day. Then take the other $25 and go buy me lunch.
