I'll make the bold assumption that you are asking about a manual transmission.

What if you are stopped with the car in neutral and the clutch out and the depress the clutch and try to select a gear? (engine running of course)
Have you checked your transmission fluid level?

yes, it's a maunel transmission and yes i've checked the fluid level. the problem is when i drive im able to shift into every gear but when i coast and leave it in neutral im unable to put it back into gear.
unless im at a complete stop.....

it doesnt work do u think it can be my whole tranny? well here is some other problems that occurs when im driving.

so i thought it was my clutch. so i change it out and still get stuck in gears. the problem is that when im driving and put it back in neutral im not able to put it back in gear..
also when im on a hill in first and foot on the clutch pedal all the way my car doesnt even roll back.
sometimes when im in neutral and remove my foot off the clutch pedal while at a stop my car stalls out or shut off

what do u guys think the problem is....any suggestion on how to fix it would help thanks....!

the spring on your pressure plate on your clutch assembly might be going out and not disengaging the clutch

Does the handle feel strange in any way, Loose maybe? Could be an issue of it not coming all the way out of gear or something? Shifter linkage problem maybe? You looked at that stuff yet?

What car is this? Is it a cable transmission? Did you adjust the cable?

if it's a hydro it could be the master and/or slave cylinder...mine is leaking on me now...check behind your clutch pedal to see if there is any fluid or gunk

Could be the pressure plate. You did change that with the clutch, right?
