Default Tranny Problem...HELP

Damn this sucks my car is starting to have sooooooo many problems, trying to get them fixed one at a time.

Now it is my tranny, I got a 1994 Integra GSR. A couple of years ago the clutch went out and i replaced it with a ACT clutch. I now have a grinding noise that is coming from the tranny ... at least that is what the mechanic said. He said that it is from my "front gears".

I am looking for suggestions ... should I replace the whole tranny with either a ITR tranny or GSR OR should I rebuild that tranny?

Please help I gotta get this done before it totally breaks down on me.

THANKS

when is it grinding? if it's at higher RPMs, it's probably the synchros (especially 2-3).....as far as rebuilding the GSR tranny, you're gonna spend about the same amount as buying a used/rebuilt ITR tranny....

i was in the same boat and decided to go with the ITR tranny that i bought from brian (b18c1_powered_si) and it was the best upgrade i did on my car.....love LSD and the closer ratios

i just replaced my tranny. It cost a total of 1500. I had to get a used gsr tranny and a new clutch put in...some other things added also. It was a pain.

change your tranny fluid and see if its sparkly....if it is your tranny is cooked.

If not might be the release bearing as he said (allthough I'm not sure how)

might just be a throwout bearing then....replace that before doing a tranny....might as well do a clutch while your in there.....just my .02
