TPS problem with swap
yeah yeah yeah i know, problems with the swap already. Took the thing to work this morning.. prefect drive. On the way back home though i start to notice my RPM's twitching between 4.25 and 4.5 in 5th gear. Press the throttle harder and the fun begins, things starts spazzing out on the tach...1,5,2.5,5,4,0,0,0,2,0... that last zero i lost all power when pressing the throttle so i pulled it over and got it as far as i could on the next exit to a quicktrip.. it just got towed back to my house and it's bucking like crazy with hardly any throttle. I'm thinking it's the TPS for sure, somebody help me if you know exactly what it is.
I'm thinking that if it was the TPS you would probably be getting a code but it can't hurt to check the voltage: http://www.integra.orcon.net.nz/tps
well i'll be damned, it's like my brain is a friggin honda diagnostics system, the ecu just threw out a code 07, thanks

ok scratch that, it threw out a code 7, i set the voltage to .45 closed, it ran good for a little while... then it started surging again. I checked it and it read .48.. so i set it back down, .45 closed 4.40 WOT. Still bucks and surges like crazy same problem. Think I should set it to .32? When i first checked it before i set it i got .36... I can set it anywhere from .11 to .49 soooo.. somebody help please!
I own a 1989 Integra LS too. Basically a code 7 is a throttle angle sensor. You can test the sensor using a multimeter to measure voltage output. I own theHAynes manual for the car if you need further information. You should probably replace it and clear the code and you should be OK. You can probbalyget one in the junk yard.

okay now i'm hearing clicking noises everytime the RPM's drop, sounds like it's comin from the fuse box. Anybody besides me think it's the main relay??
fixed again, a plastic wire connector on the harness ground was shorting out and the transmission. the top part of the connector melted a little to where there was a tiny amount of metal showing and that tiny amount of metal kept touching the damn tranny.... word of advice, if you're getting a screwy problem and your honda is not giving you a code, it's a ground problem.. the end
