Default Thru a rod

I have recently blown the motor in my 98gsr because of flood damage it thru a rod thru the block. The insureance is helping. So i'm looking into getting the type-r motor and trans. Were are some good sites to buy a new motor from. I checked out osaka jdm motors and they said 4200.

If i get the r motor will i need new axles, motor mounts, etc......... i have a 98 integra gsr

And does anyone know any shops in the chicago-land area that can swap it in for me. One shop said 800-1100 for labor. is that a good price?

Thanks for any help

The weird thing about osaka is they are the only site I've seen that sells the ITR motor+tranny without a LSD standard... Still not bad for $200 more.

all b series axles are interchangable. ur stock mounts are fine. as for the swap. swap it urself with a few buddies. it isn't very hard. The hardest part of my swap was getting that stupid lil pin out of the shift linkage.

local boards where you might be able to get some ideas as well, it would be cool to have some more Integra guys over there

Charging $6500 for a long block with the install is absolute RAPE. How do they sleep at night? You could buy a whole GSR for about that much! Heres my advice. Get the swap you want, and as stated above do the swap with some friends. You'll be glad you did.

I feel sorry for the people like little old ladies who have to have work like this done at the dealership and get charged so much money because they don't have any other choice. The salvation army needs to start doing engine swaps.
