Throttle Cable
my friend did this and I was wondering it really works and if it is or isn't bad for your engine, he has a civic ex 2 dr 97 and he loosened the throttle connectors and then pushed them together more and tightened them, i don't know if you understand what im talking about thats how he said it to me, he told me the acceleration is better is this true?

Is your throttle cable loose to begin with?

The slack is there to relieve the tension from the cable and allow for material expansion/contraction. I would say that removing the slack would shorten your throttle cable life, but who knows? If you're hurtin' for power (response) that badly, there are other places you can and should start, IMO.

If your cable is so loose that the pedal hits the floor before the throttle is all the way open, then YES it'll improve things. You'll be adjusting it back to where it belongs in the first place. Don't make it too tight - the throttle MUST be able to close completely...
Otherwise, it's just a perception thing about how your gas pedal 'feels'.
