Default Tech Guru's....PLEASE HELP

OK, se here's the thing....I'm putting in new .5 mm oversize R pistons into my 94 gsr. My rods are reconditionable and I want to know if 01 R pistons OR CTR pistons will DIRECTLY fit onto the gsr rods without any modification?? Also, if I go with CTR pistons, would that cause problems with a daily driven car? Anyone with knowledge please help, I have been without my car for over a month and I need to know what way to go and I can't f*ck around and end up spending money on useless parts...thanks!

first of all the factory overbore pistons are .25 . second of all all the pistons will mount to the rods. they came fromthe same series engine. the b-series, right? third ctr pistons would raise the compression slightly over a 12:1 . what does this mean honda-tech noobs? don't answer, i'll tell ya. 95 or higher octane gas. Fourth. measure the piston height and compare them. if you go to a honda shop that has em in stock they would be more than happy to get you a measurement. the stack height with the rods should be exactly the same otherwise you will have problems with bearings and valve clearance issues as well. Fifth, if the rods are ok, get them shot peened to strengthen and lighten them. any other questions class?? class?
No
well go home and read section 01-01 to 01-. . . of your acura integra Helms manual because we are going to have a test on it all tomorrow.

Well, that bit about b-series isn't exactly correct.

But yes, they will fit on the GSR rods. CTR, ITR, and GSR pistons are all fit the GSR rod. B16(PR3 or P30) and LS pistons all will be too wide. You'd have to put a 1 mm spacer on each side of the wrist pin to make them fit.

I think people are running 12:1 on 93 octane with good tuning(Hondata)..

they're fine, you just need to dump a couple hundred into tuning, y0.

you can put the ctr pistons in your engine and if you use a stock .76mm thick 3 layer head gasket it can raise your compression to 12.3 to 12.4 to 1. you should go to team-integra.net and read the articles especially the piston tech article it will answer your questions and may help you choose a suitable piston. good luck
