Stick to the CTR pistons - you sure you did not damage cylinder wall, cause if you did go for the .025 overbore and still go with CTR pistons with .o25 oversize...

i would go with the jdm b18c5 with a 11.0:1 comp. the ctr comp is to high for daily driving and you have to get new rods.

Yo, CTR pistons will work fine on pump gas and even if you have mods like headwork, IHE, etc. Tom Fujita at http://www.portflow.com will confirm this. And I think that your compression will be only at about 10.9 (slightly less) if you have no head milling or combustion chamber configuration changes. I had to mill my stock b16a rods 1 mm. on each side (small piston end) for fit to CTR pistons...

well ive done some thinking and some checking on funds and ive decided im just gonna build up a block. getting a built bare block from JG, CTR pistons, crower rods, and polishing my crank. this is my plan that fits my budget, if anyone else has different opinions please let me know before i go ahead and order everything. thanks

Sound good to me - the crank polishing might be overkill - how is your head, cams, etc.?

i realize i dont need to do anything to my crank but i figure while its out i might as well do it, plus its only gonna put me out $50. as far as my head goes its pretty much stock, but that will be taken care of in the near future. i figure as long as my block is apart i might as well do everything that i want to do now. ohh instead of crower rods which are rated at like 700hp, something tells me i wont have that much HP, im going with IMPO rods that are rated at 450 and are much easier on the 'ol wallet

I hear you on that, and you are right. To me I think you gotta get a real world idea if a particular part or money spent is going to give you anything worthwhile in terms of performance.

As an example, I read a thread on the Type R column where they wanted to spend hundreds and hundreds of $$$$ to get maybe 2 HP. CRAZY!But people wanna buy stuff for the name factor only and worshop at the throne of Jun, Spoon, Mugen, etc. They make good parts but not often do you get much better for a lot more.

Let's not even go there with stuff like cam gears where you basically are NOT going to improve on Skunk2 , as an example which may only be 1/3 the price of Spoon. ....
