coolant was sputtering/gushing from the resevoir tank when i came back from a 2 hour trip. My temperature gauge showed a good temp, my fans wernt turning on.
and this morning I went to mess with it. i refilled it with some water into the tank and radiator. my fans now turn on. but the coolant inside the resevioir tank is bubbling when it gets hot..its like the hose running from the radiator is pushing coolant out blowing out.. Is my thermostat closed up? or going bad... ? water pump maybe? definetly not a hg! hopefully not :/

 

let your car warm up with the radiator cap off. this will allow air in the system to bubble out. if there's more liquid than the system can hold at a hot expanded state, the overflow tank's purpose is to catch that excess. if the overflow tank is overflowing, you may simply have too much.

 

This and, possibly you radiator cap needs to be replaced as it is not holding the pressure either.

hasnt done it anymore, i let it start while the cap was open a couple of bubbles did come out. its not doing it anymore.
