Sunroof has the jitters
Yes, I have used search, but I couldn't find what I needed. My sunroof shakes when I open it, but not when it closes. I used almost a whole tube of lithium grease on the tracks, but to no avail. I ran it back and forth numerous times, with no change in operation. I was wondering what to do. When you guys grease the tracks, do you actually detach the sunroof from the car, or just open it? What else could it be?

I use WD-40. Just spray it along both rails and you'll see a night and day difference!!!

Re: Sunroof has the jitters (toolowintegra)
This is a well-known problem - in fact, there is a TSB about it.
I lucked out and got the dealership to fix it under warranty a few years back.
If the grease (or oil) does not work, then you will need to replace the sliders and brackets - not cheap or easy..oh well, thanks Honda.
Good luck amigo....

I initially lubed the sunroof tracks with WD-40 to loosen the oil dried up grease. I opened and closed the sunroof several times. Then I took a rag and cleaned the tracks. Once the tracks were cleaned I applied silicion grease to the tracks and opened and closed the sunroof several times to distributed the grease evenly. The sunroof has worked like a champ ever since .

unless you didn't mention it.. maybe you didn't clean the tracks of the dirt and grime built up before using the whole tube of white lithuim grease.. see if that helps...

Did the same thing and mine has been kickin strong for a while now.
Wiped the rails clean and covered them in lithium grease, BOTH in front and behind the sunroof glass. Open it and close it, then open it and reapply, open/close/open, reapply and youre set.
