Default Strut Caps

For those of you who have swapped out your own springs are the front and rear strut caps the same on the G3 Integra?

I've done my springs but I'm not exactly sure what a strut cap is...is it the part on top of the shock that supports the top of the spring? If it is I don't think they are the same...I remember the rear ones being more oval and creased than round like up front.

They may be interchangable though, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Thanks. Anyone else? I have new springs and shocks and I have the front assembled and ready to go on. I also have an extra set of front hardware (bumpstop, strut cap) already disassembled. I was going to try to have all 4 corners complete and ready to just swap for the factory one with out having to compress anymore springs.

I just did my new shocks last week, and from my recollection (since I only did one corner at a time) I believe they're different.

Damn. Oh well guess I will be compressing the rear when I pull them off also. Thanks for the replies.

On a G3 integra, you probably won't have to compress the new rear springs at all...the shock height is very close to the relaxed spring's height. You may need to put a little bit of force to put the cap nut on but not much. Don't worry...it's not enough pressure to hurt you if you slip

you SHOULD use a compressor to remove the OEM spring though

Also, I'm almost positive the caps are different on the front and rear. They may not be but why risk it?
