the past month or two, when i go to start my car, i turn the key and i hear a "err" sound, the same sound it makes right before you start the car up. but its not repatedly when holding the key turned, just one "err" its the same noise that u will hear if u turn your key real quikc as to start it but not let it start. It happens continually sometimes. I will try with "err" repeatedly every time i turn the key, sometimes it will take ten or fiteen trys before it starts up. and when it starts its just fine, runs beautifully. . what could be my problem??

 

is the "err" your hearing the ABS sound?

but that wouldn't have anything to do with it not starting right away....weird......

I have a 95 GSR also with about 130k miles. Just recently I believe I have the same problem. The cause of it was the ignition connection solders were getting old and I had to have my mechanic go in there and redo them. I would check that out. It's only going to get worse

 

if your talking about the key cylinder on the steering column, I also had that problem but the car wouldnt start at all. no dash lights, no pump priming, no clock. I tought it was the main relay (btw i have a new relay if anyone is interested) turned out it wasnt. all i did was take the plastic cover off, unscrew 3 screws and sanded all the contacts with med. grit sandpaper and put it back together. took no more than 15 minutes. and now i have a new relay that honda wouldnt take back

 

i have full power my battery and everyhitng, all the lights work and dash and all, the "err" is that noise when someone is starting there car that wont start like er er er er er er(and then vroom when it sarts) that noise. . all i hear is er once. . then nothing. .

So it's not even turning over. Check all wires, plugs, battery, grounds, starter, battery cables, etc.

 

im thinking it might be my starter, because eveyrhitng else works fine and once it turn sover the engine is fine. . how could i check the starter???

well today it happend elaving school it took about. . 20 ro 25 turns it was bad. . .i need to do sumthin about this. . can onyone offer any suggestions? are spark plugs a possible problem? i would think i would notice a difference driving. . anywho. .any suggestions? thanks

i also need to do someting about my 4" *** hole. i take it too much
