Default starting issues?

looking for some help diagnosing my cars starting problem.....92 RS....330k...
occasionally when the car has been sitting for several hours in the sun, it will not start... it only happens on hot days, humidity doesn't seem to be a factor. it will turn over, it generally takes up to 15 minutes to start. it did this last summer until fall rolled around, maybe once a week. not once over winter... it started again last week and happened again yesterday.... so i repaced my fuel filter. checked my plugs and wires, getting spark... after searching the site for similar issues i think it is either the fuel line relay or the pump, that is if its not the fuel filter.
i should mention that most times when it does start RPM's go up and then die off, goes below 0 then stalls.... i have a new battery(last year).
if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions or experienced a similar problem, karma to you for helping...

Thoughts would be leaking injectors, faulty fuel pump, bad check valve, or bad injectors. Maybe a relay, but they don't usually care much about temp. If leaking, it could be flooded, or the injectors may just not be working when too hot due to the magnetic coils inside shorting. Good chance the fuel pump is tired and has low pressure. Possibly when hot out it's too low to fun the injectors. A good shop should be able to test the output pressure. When my old rx7 had a couple of leaking injectors it would not restart when sitting for 30-40 min. Longer and the system ran out of pressure and the fuel evaporated, shorter and not too much had leaked out yet.

Injectors can be checked for leakage by removing them from the intake, pressurizing the system and looking for any fuel dribbles. If the parts are original, any could be the cause given the high klickage. It's a classic heat soak problem, as long as nice cool fuel runs through fine, shut off the flow and head gets to the bad part. Sounds like you are not getting fuel when it won't start. Have you verified spark when it is not starting? You may need to get a pressure guage that can be in all the time or easily connected when it's not starting to verify the fuel pump is working and what pressure it has.

yeah i checked the spark while it was happening yesterday no problem there.... couldn't find my pressure gauge yesterday to test the pump... i'm gonna check the injectors today if it doesn't rain on me (wish i had a garage)... they should probably be changed at this point anyway, i guess thats the downfall of having a car with that mileage so many things that should be replaced....

Dragon the car is turning over, the starter seems to be fine...

thanks for the help guys

I would highly suspect the main relay. Crx owners have this problem all the time.

How to fix it on the crx... it should be similar though.
