Spring Help..
I went to install my H&R Sport Lowering Kit on my 93 DA and when I got a look at the spring that was already installed, it doesn't look OEM. Can anyone determine if this is stock or not, and why the spring is red and grey?
The upper spring is what I took off the front driver side. and the lower spring is the H&R spring that I'm about to install.
Thanks in advance
PS. sorry for the super huge pic.

this is interesting, i'd like to know this too. if i remember correctly, the oem springs are kinda flat, not THAT round. i can take some pics of my springs if you'd like. i still have them, in a box
Im almost sure that it is stock height, but if you look at the pic, the spring im installing is a 1.7" inch drop and if you look at the spring that is on there now, they look about the same size. Then there is the fact that that the spring that is on the shock now is compressed and the H&R spring is uncompressed. so im not really sure, but i'm judging that the sport spring is going to provide a drop when installed.

I have seen several sets of OEM springs with red spots on them, so I would bet they are OEM.
My DA stock springs are too dirty for me to see the red spots, but I am pretty sure I had a set of OEM springs with a couple of red dots on them just like that. Also, you're right, you can't compare the spring lengths unless both of them are off the car and sitting next to eachother, and even then, you can't tell anything about how much the drop will be unless you know the spring rates are almost the same.
The only aftermarket springs I can remember that had a black version are RSR sport springs, but they are fairly rare, and your car would be fairly low if they were on those.
