Spring compressor Nedded??
Is the spring compressor really needed??? im going to install my koni/neupseed this weekend and wanted all the tips i can get, im going to follow the instruction on team-integra...
It will probably help you big time. Just be careful with them. When springs are compressed, they can be very dangerous if not done properly. The last thing you want is a spring or shock mount flying at you.
you dont have to use it. i recomend using it tho. its a lot quicker but ive lowered a lot of cars and ive used one maybe twice. you get a feel for it after a while. if your not goin to use one i strongly suggest laying the suspension setup on its side and puttin something heavy on top of it. and maybe a bucket or something to catch the washers and nut when they fly off. also the fronts have more of a kick when they shoot off then the rears do.
i've heard people using an impact gun to get the strut rod nut on the new set-up sinc ethe springs don't really have to be compressed... but i dunno the rod might just spin and not tighten the nut.
i didnt use a compressor on my g2. the back had basically 0 recoil. the fronts shot off. i put a bag of rags on top. i dont know about a g3 tho

i wrapped a good 3 heavy towels around them, and layed it ont he floor, nut facing a wall, putl my foot on/behind it, and then loosened it. If you have a good hold on it it wont go anywhere...the towels help a lot
