Default Speedometer doesnt work engine code flashes a code 17

I have done a enigne swap in my 94 Rs(B18B1) with a 97 type r(B18C-R) engine, I used the wiring harness from the 94 RS. I used the a/c condensor wires to wire my v-tec up.(removed the a/c so no need to have those wires.) I repined the ecu wiring harness to match the new vtec wires.
I started the car up and vtec worked with no problem, but my speedometer doesnt. Everything else works rpm, fuel, temp, ect. There was a engine code that flashes so I pined the green harness above the ecu, it read a code 17 which is vehicle speed sensor. VSS, so I checked the sensor on top of the tranny, it had corrosion in the sensor and 1 pin was missing. So I took the sensor off the B18b1 engine and put it on the B18c-r, I also clean off the sensors corrosion.
I turned on the car and took it for a drive. The speedometer still doesnt work and the engine light still comes on.? I know that the guage cluster isnt broken because I drove the RS before I completed the engine swap. Everything work correctly, and I also used the wiring harness from the RS. I am puzzeled I have looked at the wiring harness over and over every ground is connected correctly. There is no split wires or grounding problems.

I had the same problem back when i swapped in a 99-00 B16A2 in my old 93 si hatch. I did just about everything imaginable. I switched the two wires on the VSS sensor that are color coated. The black wire i left alone but once i did that the speedo started working been working ever since then....hope this helps.

So did u cut the wires then switch them and leaving the black ground alone. Or did u repin the wires?
