Smoke coming out of oil fill cap
Hey i did my LSV swap 3 weeks ago and it was shooting white smoke out of the vavle cover tube that hooks up to the stock intake. It stopped for awhile. Then i took off the oil cap and saw white smoke come out again. What wood case this? thanks in advance i appreciate all the help
Its your headgasket buy felpro or honda OEM only!!!! my car did the same thing . So have your head taken out resurface it and then slap on a headgasket and torque it correctly since you are already in there do the timing belt and water pump. After you are done dont forget to bleed your coolant system.

I would highly recommend looking at the pistons, this sounds like cracked ring lands or pistons not a blown head gasket. blown head gasket usually tells you when the oil is mixed with coolant and looks like chocolate milk, if your getting blow by through the valve cover nipple that usually points to broken ring lands. Don't jump to conclusions so quick, do a leak down test then a compression test to further narrow it down before you disassemble the engine.
head gasket, it's actually not smoke, it's water vapor from a blown head gasket suffocating the crankcase. when you go to change the head gasket I would check the pcv valve to make sure it's not all rusted up or something. Smoke from the crankcase usually means bad rings, low compression, and clogged pcv. Either way, when you do headgasket, check the pcv valve, it has a very important job!
Good God some of these responses are a joke, some smoke/vapour is fine especially since I doubt you have a catch can. I'll bet you were beating on it prior to seeing the smoke.

Weird was at my friends shop the other day there was k swapped eg on the dyno in the higher rpms it blew a bunch of smoke/vapour from the breathers on the catch can. That car is no joke but maybe that's a different game I was referring to the cars I have seen on the dyno majority emitting some forum of notable "smoke" from the breathers.
A catch can set up(proper one) helps a lot with blow by thus I mentioned op probably not having one and imo that could be fine/explainable, lets assume this is just a stock lsv he never said though.

Yea iv seen that too but again its still getting blow by when thats hapening. in the higher rpms its common BUT if its billowing out the valve cover on idle! then you have a bigger issue. Lets hope its not the pistons but we will have to see where op takes this. A better description of the issue would help as well.
I agree with some of the responses, either way by opening up your motor and taking out the headgasket you can visualize the pistons, so you can also see if its the rings worn out or cracked pistons etc.
, either way you have to open up your motor. Best thing to do is do a full rebuild, or a low milage japanese engine swap...either way unfortunately$$$$ is needed.
