Same old problem... Car Wont Start after driving..
Hey guys, a while ago i had posted saying that my car would start up fine whenever it was, but after about 20 min of driving, if i shut it off i have to wait 45 min before i can start my car again, it will crank but nothing else. before you start to flame me, this is what ive done -
replaced fuel pump
replaced ignition coil
replaced spark plugs
replaced starter
*replaced Ignitor. (forgot to add that)
replaced everything ignition wise
i am getting spark, fuel and it still wont turn over..
replaced main relay
My mechanic gave me the car back and he had no idea what was wrong with it.. so im hoping someone on here has some more ideas.

IGNITER. yeah igniter and coil are different. go back in, is the igniter black or brown? if it's black, it's the old one that tends to fry. check the other thread 2 threads away, same topic, extra info. the brown one is the newer updated one that's cheaper and lasts longer.

Before you do all the expensive stuff, just try to change out your grounds. I had the excact same problem as you and all I did was change that corroded battery ground that goes to the engine chassy yup all work fine.
My 2 cents

so you replaced the COIL and the IGNITER? if you've only replaced one, do the other one as well. also, what year is your car? this is almost starting to sound like an immobilizer issue...have you checked the cap/rotor? if they're corroded that can cause this problem...

And stucked - if you search for Immobilizer - you get a whole bunch of responses - but what it basically is, is a chip in your car and in your key that if the keys chip isnt present the car will not start thus it is immobilized - how quaint!

Re: (nObOdy65)
didn't read post good. PGMI relay is known as the main relay. if you're %100 sure you're getting spark and fuel i would suspect the injectors. if it won't turn over its a possibility that your not getting a signal from the ECM (computer). if you have a test light you can check the injectors in a ghetto way-lol. one side of the injector harness should be 12v or hot when you put the ignition on "ON". as you crank the engine the other side of harness should flash "pulsing" if you will. verify that all 4 are like this. *thinking* well, try that and let me know what happens.....

Re: (suzawa94)
do you have an injector relay wired in.
what ecu are you running? what injectors?
next time the car won't start. turn the ignition to the on position and does the check engine light go on for 2 sec then go off. If it doesnt go off then I am almost postitive its your main relay. so pull it out and solder it then put it back in.

No i do not have the foggiest as to what the Injector Relay is - i can guess but it wont go well - ill search. and im running the stock ecu for the gsr - and the injectors are stock h23 injectors. i will try the check engine light - i have resoldered the main relay already but i will give it a shot again? it does it even when its freezing cold outside (as in i dont use any heat and drive it around the block and turn it off same thing happens)

thats waht an immobilizer is. well the gsr isnt having starting issues no more. changed out the ignitor and viola... its like magic. lol but the mechanic did say that the ignition is no good so maybe thats the problem. but good luck to you. took me like over a year to figure this out didnt know until finally the ignitor gave up and car died on the freeway.
