So the car wont turn on even when i push start it. I pulled the plugs, and oreplaced it with new ones. the plug on cylinder 4 had oil on it, but thats because my valve seals are bad.

what can the problem be. i checked all fuses and replaced the ecu. main relay works, and i can hear the fuel pump prime. no check engine lights either. car has oil too

 

im gonna try to use my friends distributor. I think the ignition coil is out. the car started on it's own, then i turned it off and tried to restart it and it would start at all.

 

yeah i would check the ignition. Sounds like you got a pretty good hold on your problem. You know you are getting fuel cause you can hear the pump, next is spark??

So let us know if the coil happened to be your problem?

 

damn. the car isnt even cranking now! i'm going to swap distributors with my friend. i'm having a brain fart becuase its a saturday night, but if your ignition coil is wack, will it still crank??

 

Yes it should still crank, even if the distributor was not installed.

The very first thing I would check is the batt., [for power] then the batt. connections, [both pos.(+) and neg.(-)]

2 - Automatic or standard transmission?
3 - Anything aftermarket installed, [alarm, stereo, gauges]? 94

no gauges installed
1996 hatchback jdm b18c motor.

i need to get it to crank first before i can start it....i cant figure out how to get it to crank..

 

Try a bypass jump, jump directly from the batt. pos.(+) terminal to the starter solenoid trigger terminal.

Make sure car is NOT IN GEAR as engine will crank even if ign. switch is off and car is in gear. 94
