Default rust in the chassis

how do i sand rust off the chassis of my car, do i wet sand it or just sand it off dry? also should i use a sanding block or just use my hand? do i take light strokes or pres hard when sanding the rust off?

one more thing, what grit of sand paper do you guys recomend?

i do. i dont do half *** jobs especially when dealing with something that can cause more problems later on.

anyone have a real answer to my question?

how much rust?? if its alot use a grinder if you have access to one, if not use 36 or 40 grit sandpaper until you get to bare shiny metal. your going to have to press pretty hard. it doesnt matter if you use a block or not, whatever is easier.

can wet sanding be done to bare metal, or will that cause rust? is it only done in prep surfaces with primer and such?
