Default Running lean with timing advanced?

I changed my Distributor, spark plugs and wires.Set the timing.

I check my spark plugs after a week and #1 cyc. spark is a little white on the outside of the tip, #2 is a little white kinda greyish brown, #3 is a light brown, #4 is light brown.

My exhaust is blowing a little smoke that you really cant see unless you look into the muffler standing back. Its spitting out a little bit of black stuff with water like I have the A/C on but its off.

I read C-speed.com on there how to on timing. Its shows the crank pulley having the white TDC mark and a Green line, blank line and a red line.On my crank pulley I see the TDC I see the red but no green. The red is the mark in the middle and theres a mark in front of that and behind it.

Which mark is it?

I have a timing light but it doesnt have a adjustment.

Thanks

What are your mods and whats your timing at right now?

As far as the smoke, if it doesn't look blue, don't worry about it, if it's not black, don't change anything. Condensation will normally build up in the exhaust and create a little "smoke" which is really just steam. Did it on my Mustang, did it on my Integra.

But yeah, just give us the year/model of your car and its mods and we can possibly help you further. I bet its fine though.

95' GSR 136,xxx.

ITR intake cam, Injen intake

I bought the car and a the guy had replaced timing belt at 100,000 and water pump and recently replaced the fuel filter.

i noticed theres a little oil coming from the corner of the head gasket next to #4 cyc. if that helps any?

Im a paranoid perfectionist when it comes to cars so I could be just imagining it.

The mark in the middle is 16 degrees BTDC. That's what the factory calls for, and the other marks are +/- 2 degrees.

Regardless of color, go by how many marks?

C-speed's how to was throwing me off looking for a green mark.Right now I have it set right above the middle mark which I guess would be 17.

Yes. The single mark is the TDC mark. The group of three marks are the timing marks. Anywhere within those three marks meets the factory specification.

Sorry to Hi-Jack the thread but I'm dealing with the same problem. I have blackish/grey smoke blowing out the back. My car also shuts off after idling for a period of time. I can hear it loping when it idles.
