Rich on stock ecu?
When using the stock ecu on my 01 gsr the car runs very rich. Especially when I shift in vtec a huge cloud of smoke comes out. The only mods on it are an AEM CAI, DC 4-1 header, and a Spoon N1 exhaust. Because of the header I get a CEL for the 2nd O2, but I was told that it shouldn't change how much fuel the ecu is telling to use.
I think all I need to do it get it tuned, but my friend thinks I should get it looked at by someone cuz it shouldn't be that rich on the stock ecu. What should I do?

You should be running rich. Not a whole lot, but enough to justify a touch of smoke during hard acceration or a shift. A good tune should clear things up quite a bit.

Re: (Kendall)
What if I adjust my timing? or am I just an idiot for asking that? I'm not a mechanic
I ask because that is easier than tuning it, I'd like to fix it as best I can now and get it tuned at the end of the month.

Since when would it be considered a waste?
