Default Removing power steering

Should I drain the rack or leave it filled? I've already removed the power steering belt.

leave it filled......the fluid still has to circulate or the power steering pump will break

If you're just trying to eliminate some parasitic drag on the engine (by removing the belt), I'd just leave the system full. That'll make it a snap to get the power steering system back up, in case you need it for some reason.

If you're going for weight reduction, too, you'll want to look to some other procedures to get rid of the unit altogether.
