i searched and didnt find anything. stop me now if you gotta a link to an article. i got my tan dash still, last thing to switch to black. any easy way of removing it? thanks
confidence has nothing to do with it. im gonna do it, i just need to know where to unbolt everything. never messed with the dash before, no clue where to start.
this can be found in the integra faq thread at the top of our forum:

try living life like that.. and see where it gets you.
trust me bro, just think.. "you're not going to fight me, ima fight you" and tackle that project. cuz the last thing you need is to pull the dash off and see all those wires and **** your pants and think, "****, i should of never of done this"
good luck mang!

yep, its a difficult job, not that you have to be smart to do it, theres probablly 15 connectorys you have to undo, and you have about 4 inches to work with.
Remove your seats, remove the steering wheel. Then start removing screws, it will come out eventually. it can be done.

using a manual is your best bet, or at least have one handy.... it helped me get to the screws and connectors that i couldn't see... it's not to much of a difficult job if you are patient....you don't have to remove the steering wheel, but it'll help alot to do it when pulling it out...

there are six bolts, and 5 plugs you have to undo, 3 to the fuse box, and two behind the radio. and 6 bolts. i like to drop the steering column, so that i dont have to take the steering wheel off. i thinks its easier that way. imo.

shad up. did you forget the cluster (3) air-bags(2) ashtray light(1)ac/heater(3) hazard(1)and rear defrost(1) radio(2)
I wish I dollar everytime a trial user tried to correct me.
AND taking the steering wheel off is a 10 minute job, literally. Removing the negative battery will never allow the airbag to deploy, have confidence in what I say, Ive done in a handfull of times.
You will be under your dash a LONG time trying to figure out where everything detaches, I WISH I would have removed the front seats, You are on your back the majority of the time. Its your call, 5 minute job.

you dont have to take any of those out except for the center console, which is a given and the two tens that hold the airbag to the bracket support. and thats it, you dont HAVE to take any of those other things you said out. and im new to the site not to the game. so mind yours.
i can have the dash out in less then 20 mins. if you dont believe me do you want me to make a video and post it. cuz this newb will make you eat your own words.

its not hard.... it depends what year your teg is.. bolt locations differ slightly your may or maynot have them...
going from left to right of the dash the bolt locations are
-left sidepanel of the dash
-left drivers vent--- i know my 2001 dash didn`t have this
-two behind the cluster
-the larger removable panel under the steering wheel -bottum left corner
-behind the clock
-once you remove the armrest/centerconsole, two bolts conecting the dash to the body/dashframe
-remove the glove box- bottum right of the glovebox there is a screw/8mm and a (bolt 10mm-remove this one)
-two bolts connecting the airbag assembly to the "dash frame-metal bar"
-and one more on the right side of the dash
as for wiring goes..
-there are three plugs to be removed a blue, red, and a grey one from the fuse box
-the gauge cluster plugs
-the dash clock plug
-the 2 plugs behind the radio and climate control
-the ashtray and lighter
-and a yellow SRS plug you will see when you remove the airbag..
-as for the steering wheel you should have tilt. if you unbolt the two bolts that connect the tilt assembly to the "dashfram-metal bar" it will drop down and you can easily pull out the dash.... and you do NOt have to unplug anything from the steering wheel/colomn
i`m typing this purely from memmory.. tomorrow morning if i have time or tuesday morning i`ll take pictures... i have the dash out of a teg i just bought, i`ll take pictures of the dash and of the car without the dash.... i`ll highlight all the conectors and bolts.. send me your e-mail address or some who has the campabilities of doing this so something can be written up... ive done this more then enough its not long or complicated....
and if this was enough info good luck..

when i did my dash conversion, i followed this thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=954173
it was probablly one of the easier things to do. but thats only my opionon. my first time doing it took me about 5 hours. if i had to do it again, i say i can do it in 1.

Granted....that'd be true only if you didn't have to swap everything over like I did. I had to swap over the gauge cluster, the A/C unit, and the stereo deck ( obviously ) because all I had was just the dash itself and no wiring harness, no electronics, no vents except for the ones on the passenger side and that was IT. It was a pain in the ***, but oh well....worth it IMO. But still.....I'd say its a GOOD MEASURE not to be lazy.....and remove the steering wheel ANYWAY. That way you won't have to worry about the windshield
Besides....is an extra few minutes really worth the chances of you having to replace the windshield??? I dunno...to each their own.

its not that hard...not all the wires can be connected into the same spot...acutally i dont think any of them can...but im not sure....if you have a brain you can do it...ive done it.....
EDIT: Dunno man, you say you dont have to connect all the 15 connectors(climate control, radio), and that you can take it out without the steeringwheel off......peace-o-cake. riiight. It took me and my brother a solid hour just to figure out what needs to be unscrewed, and another 45 minutes finding and unhooking all the connectors, then removing wasnt easy. It took us a solid 2.5 hours. It would take someone on his own a full day to figure it out.
Once you do it, sure its easy.Or your talking about a drag car. But someone doing it the first time?... think about it, it take a lot of time.
Just trying to give good insite.

I hope you're not talkin to me n00b. If you've been on this site long enough, there have been at least one other thread where someone accidentally cracked their windshield because they couldn't quite get their dash over the steering wheel with ease. I just made a recommendation so that no one else would have to worry about that. Plus, when I swapped out my interior, that's what I did. I removed the steering wheel so it'd be easier.
*EDIT* Though the chilton's manual does not specifically state to remove the steering wheel, page 10-8 ( BODY AND TRIM ), Fig. 24 shows the steering wheel already removed. But a pic showing someone removing the dash can be found on page 6-13, Fig. 32
D-Cereal
I agree. It took me about a good 2 hours just to remove everything ( since as stated before ) just so I could swap over everything onto the new fash once that was in.

When I replaced my tan dash with a black one, the only real problems I had was actually getting the dash out of the car once it was all disconnected, and getting the new one back in. Almost impossible to do without a 2nd person to help you.
I think I also bent the climate control cable, so it's kinda tough to move it from cold to hot. Other than that though, went flawlessly. :D

still cant fathom how someone would actually crack or break the windshield, im sure you must do something wrong for that to happen. never heard of that in my life, and like i said, if you were to read, i told you have have not been on this site for long. that means nothing, this site doesnt make me who i am and the abilities i have. so jsut cuz i signed up again, recently doesnt make me a noob, only to this site. and dont be mad cuz without h-t you know nothing.
