recommend suspension? Tein-basic coilover vs. Ground control/KYB?
Hey guys
Were super helpful on my rotor question so I thought I'd ask you
guys which BUDGET coilover suspension you guys recommend.
Tein bais coilover/shock $700
Ground Control/KYB $600
This is my general price range.
I have a 2000 GSR 4dr.
Suggetions would be much apperciated!
thanks.

Tein Basics should only cost around $600, but they are only height adjustable, not 16-way damping adjustable like the SS ($850). I would get the GC's with the KYB AGXs if you don't want to spend more than $600.

I strongly agree!

Just wanted to expand, I think that you would be much happier in the long term if you saved up the negligible difference between the Tein Basic and SS and got a truly better coilover. The SS has adjustable height and dampening, something that may not be important to you at this point, but very well could become so at a later point in time. It's not a big price gap, but I expect you will be much happier in the longterm with it. Buyer's remorse sucks, get what works for your needs, but at least consider that you might want to upgrade from the basic setup if you decide to go that route and you would end up paying more in the end to achieve a coilover like the SS, which is quite a damn good deal btw. Good luck with whatever route you choose. I had been set on the SS, but ended up buying the JIC Magic FLT-A2
I'm actually very happy that I went for a better setup than I had intended because it leaves a lot of doors open, I'm not suggesting the FLT-A2s but just wanted to relate my personal experience

i would go witht hte ground control and kyb setup. you would have dampening adjustability. from what i've heard basic's are search, but if you get the ss that's another story.
tein basics is what i suggest. I have tein SS, and the only differnce between the SS and Basic is that the Basic does not have the 16 way adjustability on the shock. My car rides like butter, but than KYB and Ground Control, that extra 100.00 is definitly worth it

They have the coil over set but the site is not updated. IMO they look better than the Tein. They used them on the D1 car last weekend in Cali. 98ctr
