Radiator problem
I was just driving like normal and all of a sudden smoke started coming out of my hood and i was like wtf? I pulled into a parking lot popped the hood and my radiator had a little pinhole leak and the water kept dripping on top of some of the metal in my engine. Does anyone know how this could have happened out of the blue? Or how to fix it?Thanx
how many miles u got on that radiator.. if u didnt screw with any of the cooling things they normally blow around 90k+...
my car's top tank blew at 80k-ish... stuipd mugen 1.5 rad cap... never thought that if u dont swap out the thermostat and fan switch when u install the high pressure caps it will cause ur radiator to blow faster... it took out my bf's civic radiator too... guess it took two cars and two radiators to realize this... too late now huh

My radiator also died around 60k miles. Stock radiators suck *** because they have plastic pieces. It happens out of the blue sometimes. I was driving one day and I smelled coolant. Radiator.com sells them for 100 bucks.

Its all has to do with Prolonged heat ... other things that people have mentioned like the pressure inside all can effect it ... but in stock form .. Prolonged heat.
As for 8k shifts .. they dont really matter.. what matters is how hot your engine is getting. the water soaks up the heat and keeps it cool ... soo youll want to look at your temp gauge.. If you want to keep the engine/radiator running cooler than stock form ... by some FAL radiator fans .. they are awesome

dang I feel lucky, my stock radiator sprung a leak last week at 160K miles. I just replaced it with one of those $120 replacements, everything fit in and hooked up perfectly, so hopefully that's a good sign that it will last awhile.
Mine broke right after I put the turbo on my car, so I figured they were related but later found out they weren't. I got pissed off so I bent the stock radiator in half.
